No individual should contact me under the age of 18 years without the express permission of their legal guardian. This includes giving addresses to receive a prize or signing up for my newsletter.
NEWSLETTER
When you sign up for my newsletter, your email address will be stored in Substack's database. Occasionally, I will make a backup of that database that will only ever be used in the event of a total loss of Substack's database. You can unsubscribe at any time by either contacting me or using the "unsubscribe" feature at the bottom of every newsletter.
Newsletters are typically sent monthly and contain information that Lauren thinks her readers would enjoy. Sometimes it includes links to purchase books or items; you are never under any obligation to buy anything. Sometimes affiliate links are used. Information on Lauren's upcoming events and any workshops or other programs will also be included.
Your information will never be sold or used for any reason other than sending out the newsletter or to refine target audiences for advertising or content creation purposes. You may unsubscribe at any time.
SOCIAL MEDIA
On social media, I will sometimes offer free copies of my or other books, free writing programs (such as a critique), etc. to benefit my social media followers and readers. To do this, I may request contact information so that I can deliver your prize to you. No contact information will be stored after the prize is sent, except by permission of the person (i.e. to continue conversations via email, or to continue to receive mailings).
GIVEAWAYS
In order to receive a prize won through a giveaway, Lauren may request an address. The winner does not need to supply the address, but no prize can be distributed without it, meaning that should the winner not wish to supply their address, they also forfeit the prize. All entrants must be at least 18 years old or have the permission of their legal guardian. No addresses will be stored outside of the giveaway, except with the express permission to do so, and all addresses of an individual will be deleted upon request.
